Arroyo Grande, CA - September 09, 2011 -- On Saturday, September 24th, Gather Wine Bar brings to its customers a celebration of Harvest - showcasing, Gather's Chef Tim Flickwir who will be serving a spectacular array of dishes utilizing produce from Arroyo Grande. Chef Tim is known for utilizing fresh market ingredients in house made savory and decadent dishes.
Some of the items on the evening's menu are:
- Tart Pissaladier (puff pastry, caramelized onions, kalamata olives and anchovies)
- Spicy Watermelon Gazpacho Shooters with Sweet Crab
- House Made Country Style Pate with Walke ReserveGrain Mustard on Brioche Crouton
- Sausage Stuffed Grand Marnier Scented Cremini Mushrooms
Historically, La Paulée was a widespread Burgundian celebration held at the end of the grape harvest. Over the years, La Paulée has changed a bit from the original communal banquet for growers and their workers to a party celebrating the harvest and great wines.
A special feature of La Paulée is that everyone brings wine. Gather is proud to announce the attendance of several wineries representing the Arroyo Grande Region. Amongst these wineries are Talley Wines, Baker and Brain, Center of Effort Wines, Sinor-LaVallee, Carlson Wines, Henson Wines and Luminesce among other local favorites. These wineries will be providing wines for our guests to taste and enjoy at this special event.
Winemakers who will be in attendance will be bringing their favorite Arroyo Grande wines as well as wines being made in Arroyo Grande in the new SLO Wine Studios space. We are excited to join in Harvest by hosting this special event. Anyone who appreciates fine eating and drinking should try to attend this event, which captures the essence of Burgundy's joie de vivre, Village of Arroyo Grande style.
